Evening Makeup

Even if you don't usually use powder, apply loose powder which will keep your make-up in place all evening and give you a glamorous finish. Use a cotton pad to apply the powder, pressing it into the foundation then remove any excess with a large powder brush.

As women, we wear a variety of hats and work in a variety of professions. Whether you're all business all day, running a business from home or the executive director of your household and the local car pool coordinator, you likely have events that you must attend which require evening makeup.

To brighten your eyes, use a highlighter. To do this you use a gold or pink highlighter and draw a V-shape that follows the inner corner of your eye from top to bottom. Be sure to blend it with your fingers as this will make your eyes 'pop'. For the eyebrows, you still use the same highlighter and dab it on your brow bone focusing on your mid-brow going outward. Blend again with your fingers.

Now you will want to move on to your eyes. Start by applying a light shade eye shadow to your eyelids. You want to take your darker shade and apply it to just the crease of your eyelid and a little bit above it. Next, take your eyeliner and add a thin line to the lash line of your upper eyelid only for a daytime look.

Whenever you remove makeup or apply creams/masks, follow the so called 'massage lines'. It will prevent your skin from developing premature wrinkles under the stress of every day makeover (basically, you will not have to stretch your skin in a 'wrong' direction that causes early wrinkles).

For effective evening wear, use a foundation with buildable coverage. This technique is useful when a concealer is not used in the application process and some areas of the face need to be covered a tad more than others. For fuller coverage, use a clean makeup powder puff or wedge sponge and work foundation into the face in outward strokes.

Fashion comes and goes as often as the season changes. Trends range back and forth as easily as a pendulum keeps time. One thing for sure - the trend will change. When choosing your bridal makeup - make a decision if you want to look classic and timeless or if you wish for a trendy look of the day.

Do not make bold eyeshadow color choices for your eyes if you are having a morning wedding. Choose warmer, soft shades that complement your eye color. This is the one time you will want to wear less eyeshadow because the lighting will accentuate any harsh colors or lack of blending. Make sure to definite your eyes really well at the lashline to help them stand out.

When your body and skin are healthy, you may naturally feel as though you don't need as much makeup, so the first step in achieving a natural look is to take good care of yourself and your skin. When your skin glows, you may hesitate before you put on any foundation at all, even if you are accustomed to wearing it every day.

Evening weddings can be all about the drama, or you can add more makeup if your reception is in the evening. Smoky eyes can look very dramatic, but make sure you choose flattering colors (not just gray and black). You can wear a very matte foundation and powder and it will still look like skin and that might be a good idea if you are planning on doing a lot of dancing!

Place a small amount of the cleanser on your fingertip and touch your forehead, each of your cheeks, your chin and on the center of your face. You do not have to use a lot of cleanser and do not use a cleanser that has any soap in it. Now rub the cleanser lightly into your skin.
